Kate studied flute with Derek Honner and later with Ann Cherry and John Bowler (piccolo) at Trinity College of Music.
In 2003 Kate was appointed flute with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán in Mexico. She left Yucatán in 2007 when she was appointed Sub-Principal flute with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. She returned to London in October 2008 since when has had a busy and varied musical career performing and teaching.
Kate is currently studying for her Masters Degree to train to become a music therapist and is combining her teaching and playing with work as a support worker with children with learning disabilities. She is Co-founder and Director of Flute School London and of the adult education group the Flute Ensemble London.
